Calling All DIG IN 2019 Volunteers!
For the fourth year in a row, EATS and Summit Community Gardens are joining forces for DIG IN!
On August 25, 2019, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., we will be celebrating Family Meal Month at the Summit Community Gardens — and we need volunteers!
EATS is looking for some enthusiastic, hard-working volunteers to help us make this day super successful! There will even be some fun jobs for older kids, so we encourage you all to get your kids involved!
We will need assistance for the following event management:
Garden Setup
8 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Set up tables, tents and chairs, and decorate the tables. (Heavy lifting required!)
Table Monitor
3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m — or — 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Direct guests to self-bus tables, throw out their garbage waste and properly recycle.
Clean place settings and turn over tables.
Direct guest seating.
Opportunity Drawing
3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m — or — 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Roam the garden, asking politely if guests would like to purchase an opportunity ticket for $5 and let guests know what the drawing prizes are.
Give guests beaded necklaces.
Great for older kids! Must be able to use a card reader on a mobile device.
Photographer Assistant
3 p.m. – 4:30 p.m — or — 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Help hand out coloring sheets and crayons.
Keep the area tidy.
Clean Up
6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
All hands on deck to help us clean up from this wonderful event and keep our community gardens clean!
