September Taste Test
EATS volunteers enticed students to try FOUR different varieties of cucumbers sourced through Marvins Gardens and Big Foot Farms near Ogden. The Birt brothers, Nolan (68) and Marvin (79) have been farming the “old fashion” way their entire lives. Their family has worked their land since the days of Brigham Young and were too poor to purchase pesticides when they were introduced in the 1940’s. The brothers are thankful today for that decision and are proud of their organic produce. We applaud the Birt brothers and all farmers who shun pesticides, making food healthier for our kids!
