Lunch Menu Facts
Each day the school lunch menu offers food in 5 categories:
- Fruits
- Vegetables
- Whole Grains
- Meat / meat alternative
- Milk (low-fat white and chocolate, hormone and anti-biotic free)
Each child selects one item from at least 3 of the categories, and one of these items must be either a fruit or vegetable.
Fresh fruit and seasonal vegetables are offered every day.
Salads are offered every day and are made with spinach and Romaine lettuce.
Juice is 100% fruit juice and is offered 2 times each week.
All rice is brown rice.
All bread, pasta, pizza dough, and bread crumb coatings are made with 51% whole grain.
Corn dogs and pepperoni for the pizzas are made with turkey.
There are no fried foods on the menu; chicken nuggets, curly fries, corn dogs, and other foods that are typically fried are baked.
